On the trail of Arturo Martini

Walking tour that will take us to discover the main works and testimonies present in Vado Ligure of the artist from Treviso, but Ligurian by adoption. Starting from the War Memorial and passing through the Museum dedicated to him, present in Villa Groppallo, the tour ends on Sunday with the “Fallen Pegasus,” a monument created by his son-in-law Roberto Bertagnin in his honor.

The starting point is set in Lungomare Giacomo Matteotti, where the boys and girls of the I.C. “Peterlin” Secondary School in Vado Ligure will welcome visitors with a short theatrical performance entitled “The Talking Monument.”

Next, they will accompany visitors to explore the “Martini Civic Museum,” where they will be able to admire, among others, the original plaster casts of the bronze sculptures, found in the War Memorial. On Sunday, after departing from the “War Memorial,” the girls and boys will accompany visitors along the streets of the city, until they reach the “Fallen Pegasus,” located near the Church of St. John the Baptist, where a playful-educational moment will take place with the game entitled “Re-compose Pegasus.”
The itinerary ends not far away, in Queirolo Street, where A. Martini lived from 1920 to 1934 with his wife (originally from Vado Ligure) and daughter “Nena”; on the exterior walls of the building are some artistic terracotta tiles.
