Su Cucuru

Located in the center of Dorgali, a short walk from the parish church of Santa Caterina, the Su Cucuru square was for decades the space for the “village festival” until the early 1980s, a space where generations and generations of Dorgalians met. It has been the door through which all Dorgalians have come to know the world and seen it change. In fact, in the space of a few decades, at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, this square saw the entertainment imagery of this community of ours change from the songs of rural civilization to the pop music of the 1970s. A physical and imaginary space that has been profoundly altered over time, but which remains indelible in the memory of those who have experienced it.
