The public washhouse in Tissi was built according to the design of Eng. Franchetti in 1905, a period when work was carried out in the village on the construction and restoration of most of the springs, troughs and aqueducts (1880-1920). It consists of a limestone building with a squared rectangular shape; the two major facades have a series of unglazed openings, bordered laterally by small pillars supporting the supporting framework of the wooden roof, which is of more recent reconstruction. Inside, there is a central bearing wall interrupted by wide arches with solid brick ribs, surrounded by a large stone vascone waterproofed with cement glaze; the floor consists of trachyte slabs. Along the longer sides are two steps crowned with slabs of pietra serena and carved into the limestone, the material of which the original floor of the building was made.
