The area, which preserves signs of human presence in Punic and Roman times, was outside the fortified Pisan settlement in the Middle Ages. In the Savoy era the area underwent further interventions, becoming Royal Arsenal and later barracks, later transformed into a military district. Damaged by bombing in 1943, the architectural complex acquired its present configuration between 1965 and 1979, designed by architects Cecchini and Gazzola. Home to important state (Archaeological, Art Gallery), regional (Ethnographic), and municipal (of Siamese Art) museum institutions, as well as temporary exhibitions, it houses the operational headquarters of the Department of History, Cultural Heritage and Territory of the University of Cagliari, with classrooms, the library, laboratories and Evan Gorga’s archaeological collection. Thanks to the system designed by the university students of Vestigia-Laboratory of Didactics and Communication of Cultural Heritage, the whole area, through a path that starts from the entrance of the Public Gardens (where the Municipal Art Gallery is located) and enhances the views from above, will be able to be rediscovered as a large integrated cultural hub. A pedestrian convoy will depart at regular intervals from the terminus, respecting precise stops and exchange stations. These correspond to as many places, where people will be able to choose whether to leave the human convoy to visit individual sites with the guidance of volunteers, or to continue the exploration according to the guided route.

Terminus: Largo Dessì (entrance to Public Gardens)

Ubaldo Badas Street

Arsenal Square

Citadel of Museums

Buoncammino Avenue

Saints Lawrence and Pancras Street

Street Public Gardens

Terminus: Largo Dessì (entrance to Public Gardens)

["post-104573","itinerario","type-itinerario","status-publish","hentry
["GET
