The built-up area of Mariotto developed around it.<br\/>The building, also known as &#8220;Palazzo del Barese,&#8221; has maintained its residential function over time while undergoing extensions and adaptations. The local stone structure presents a courtyard layout with an arched portal, embrasures and cantonments that recall its defensive function.<br\/>The inner courtyard, with a well and service rooms, retains its original domestic character.
