Giusta is located north of the urban center of the Municipality of Gesico, about 100 m. S. of the Nuraghe S. Sebastiano. It was originally erected in the Romanesque-Pisan style and was later remodeled in Catalan Gothic style. The remains of the Romanesque phase were found under the present church during restoration (1996-1998). The facade, which faces a large terraced square, has a wall face of medium-sized stone blocks. On the left side of the building a massive square-bore bell tower with a flat crowning and lanceolate battlements can be seen, as in the elevation. A bas-relief depicting a small temple with the three saints Justa, Justina and Enedina can be seen in the tympanum. In the capitals are visible heads of acanthus leaves and winged heads. Above the portal an oculus gives light to the hall. The fa\u00e7ade and bell tower are in the Catalan-Gothic style. The church has a single nave, flanked by side chapels.<br\/>Inside, the Gothic-Aragonese building has four cross vaults, with ribs and decorated hanging gems, which support and divide the hall into four bays flanked by side chapels. On the left side, near the entrance, the chapel below the bell tower overlooks the nave, which houses the baptismal font and holds the retable of the Anime del Purgatorio (1623) by Campanian artist<br\/>Giulio Adato. At the back of the hall rises the chancel, which has a square plan and is supported by a fifth cross vault significantly smaller in size than those of the other bays. Inside the building is a rare statue of a black Christ from the school of Nicodemus, some 16th-century wooden statues, altars, pulpit and polychrome marble furnishings, and a silver shrine dated 1621.             <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":17,"featured_media":110910,"template":"","meta":{"COMUNE":[],"note":[],"indirizzo":[],"accessibilita_mezzi":[],"coordinates":[],"images":[],"adesioni":[],"footnotes":""},"monumento_tipologia":[679],"accessibilita":[],"accessibilita_mezzi":[],"class_list":["post-110919","monumento","type-monumento","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","monumento_tipologia-chiesa-en"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/110919","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/monumento"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/17"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/110919\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":110923,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/110919\/revisions\/110923"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/110910"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=110919"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"monumento_tipologia","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumento_tipologia?post=110919"},{"taxonomy":"accessibilita","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/accessibilita?post=110919"},{"taxonomy":"accessibilita_mezzi","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/accessibilita_mezzi?post=110919"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
