The territory of Ollolai was inhabited since the Neolithic, as shown by the excavations in the area of &#8220;S. Basilio,&#8221; more precisely in the site Sa \u00f2nca <em>frabi <\/em>\u00e0 where various materials were found that testify to human presence from the Middle Neolithic to the early Iron Age.<br\/>In the area of San Basilio rises an archaeological park; it is still being researched and built. In 1412 Ollolai became a fief of the Marquis Deiana; the rivalry (disamistade) between the Arbau and the Ladu, the two most powerful families in the village, exploded into a real feud that even involved the Franciscan friars who lived in the Church of San Basilio.
