Literally called &#8220;house of fairies or witches,&#8221; they are cavities entirely dug into the rock considered by archaeologists and historians to be ancient Nuragic tombs, so the entire complex is to be considered a necropolis. In fact, their shape is reminiscent of an everyday dwelling, hence the name. Some consist of only one room while others consist of several rooms, so it is presumable that they were used for multiple burials.
