The second city wall, a section of which was identified during the excavation in Garibaldi Street, should date to this period. The houses on the downtown streets,  <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">carreras bezzas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, date back to the 17th-18th centuries; some still preserve, carved on the granite lintels, inscriptions with the owner&#8217;s initials, Christian symbol and year of foundation, a custom also observed in other historic centers of Gallura.
