{"id":89917,"date":"2023-12-19T11:50:12","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:50:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/monumenti\/church-of-hope\/"},"modified":"2024-09-10T12:23:10","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T10:23:10","slug":"church-of-hope","status":"publish","type":"monumento","link":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/monumenti\/church-of-hope\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of Hope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The chapel, owned by the noble Aymerich family, stands in the street of the Cathedral, a street formerly called Carrer dels Pelliciers, the street of the fur artisans, then Carrer de la Seu, of the seat par excellence: the Cathedral.<br \/>\nBut the people of Cagliari have long called it <em>Sa ruga de sa Speranza<\/em>, the street where Our Lady of Hope, that is, Our Lady awaiting the birth of Our Lord (from the Spanish esperanza), is worshipped at least once a year.<br \/>\nThe building of the church is probably later than 1535: the coat of arms of the Aymerich family in fact features the double-headed eagle, granted to the lineage by Charles V after the Battle of Tunis (1535).<br \/>\nThe church presents the usual features of Sardinian-Catalan architecture.<br \/>\nThe facade is devoid of prominences and ornamentation, except for the portal, which has an architraved opening.<br \/>\nThe interior is a rectangular room, covered by three vaults, the central of which is a cross of ogives, the other two are half crosses.<br \/>\nTo the right are three chapels, built after the construction of the small church.<br \/>\nThe history of the little church is also linked to the Sardinian Parliament in Spanish times, which was divided into Stamenti: in fact the military, or noble, arm had its seat here.<br \/>\nAfter the expulsion of the Jesuit Order from the Island, it was briefly home to the ancient Congregation of Artists (artisans).<br \/>\nThe bronze bell on the small bell gable still rang in the 1950s, to call the many faithful to celebrate Our Lady of Hope every December 18: especially the members of the leading noble families of Castello, who celebrated the Christmas novena in the small temple itself.<br \/>\nAt present, the Church of Hope hosts the services of the Parish of St. Saba, an Orthodox cult belonging to the Moscow Patriarchate, and has been equipped with furnishings and liturgical apparatuses related to this cult.          <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":58852,"template":"","meta":{"COMUNE":[],"note":[],"indirizzo":[],"accessibilita_mezzi":[],"coordinates":[],"images":[],"adesioni":[],"footnotes":""},"monumento_tipologia":[679,691],"accessibilita":[],"accessibilita_mezzi":[],"class_list":["post-89917","monumento","type-monumento","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","monumento_tipologia-chiesa-en","monumento_tipologia-religione-e-culto-en"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/89917","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/monumento"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/12"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/89917\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":100165,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/89917\/revisions\/100165"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/58852"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=89917"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"monumento_tipologia","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumento_tipologia?post=89917"},{"taxonomy":"accessibilita","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/accessibilita?post=89917"},{"taxonomy":"accessibilita_mezzi","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/accessibilita_mezzi?post=89917"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
