{"id":89942,"date":"2023-12-19T11:50:12","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:50:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/monumenti\/church-of-st-clare\/"},"modified":"2024-09-10T12:18:51","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T10:18:51","slug":"church-of-st-clare","status":"publish","type":"monumento","link":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/monumenti\/church-of-st-clare\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of St. Clare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The convent of the nuns of St. Clare was built in the early 14th century on the western slopes of Castello Hill.<br \/>\nThe existence of the convent is attested by two documents: the first record dates back to 1328, when Aragonese King Alfonso III granted the nuns an annual amount of grain for their sustenance.<br \/>\nIn 1353 a letter from the provincial father Bernardo Bruni names the monastery with the older denomination at Santa Margherita.<br \/>\nThe church dates, in its present arrangement, to the end of the 17th century, as evidenced by both the architectural layout and the inscription &#8220;S.
