Ossuary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 1936, on the basis of Law 877 of June 12, 1931, a large Ossuary wanted by the Austrian government was built.<br \/>\nThe building is developed in the shadow of the Long Pond, on the eastern slopes of Mount Ruda.<br \/>\nInside it were placed the remains of Austro-Hungarian soldiers exhumed from the various cemeteries: 7048 soldiers whose bones were pitifully collected in many glass compartments.<br \/>\nThe structure is accessed via a short walkway that leads to the top of a small hill on which the building stands.<br \/>\nThe building, with its severe architecture, bears a large granite-clad cross on its facade.<br \/>\nIn the center of the two arms that make up the cross appears the inscription &#8220;PAX &#8211; OSSARIO A.U.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe interior of the building consists of a single room overlooked by the twenty or so stained glass windows that hold the bones of soldiers who left their lives on the island.<br \/>\nAdorning the Shrine is a small altar and three ceramic paintings, depicting St. Stephen, the Madonna and St. Joseph, by the Francesco Avallone Factory of Vietri sul Mare.       <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":59860,"template":"","meta":{"COMUNE":[],"note":[],"indirizzo":[],"accessibilita_mezzi":[],"coordinates":[],"images":[],"adesioni":[],"footnotes":"","_members_access_role":[],"_members_access_error":""},"monumento_tipologia":[680,676],"accessibilita":[],"accessibilita_mezzi":[],"class_list":["post-91491","monumento","type-monumento","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","monumento_tipologia-bene-architettonico-en","monumento_tipologia-museo-en"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/91491","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/monumento"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/12"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/91491\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":100430,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumenti\/91491\/revisions\/100430"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/59860"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=91491"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"monumento_tipologia","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/monumento_tipologia?post=91491"},{"taxonomy":"accessibilita","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/accessibilita?post=91491"},{"taxonomy":"accessibilita_mezzi","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/accessibilita_mezzi?post=91491"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
