The building, with a single nave and barrel vault supported by doubleaux arches, faces north because of the conformation of the rock. Behind the altar is a door leading to a limestone block room, possibly a Roman cistern converted into a sacellum in the early Middle Ages. A Roman hypogeum accessible from the church shows loculi where martyrs are said to have been buried. An apsidal niche in the west wall contains an altar made of tuff blocks.
