{"id":92515,"date":"2023-12-19T11:51:41","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/monumenti\/mary-help-of-christians-institute-war-memorial\/"},"modified":"2024-09-09T11:01:06","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T09:01:06","slug":"mary-help-of-christians-institute-war-memorial","status":"publish","type":"monumento","link":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/monumenti\/mary-help-of-christians-institute-war-memorial\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Mary Help of Christians&#8221; Institute &#8211; War Memorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: revert;\">After World War I, the Monserrato Town Council wanted to erect a monument to the town&#8217;s fallen soldiers, but Mrs. Maria Teresa Piludu Nonnoi, secretary of the women&#8217;s fascio and a member of Catholic Action, proposed to replace the usual monument with a work that would not only honor the fallen, but remind them of all future citizens of Monserrato: a kindergarten for the little ones and an oratory for the girls.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">  From 1927 the building first housed the kindergarten; in 1944, due to high demand from families, the Elementary School was also opened.
