It was originally a Watermill (Cecchini Mill), one of fifteen on the river that harnessed the power of water from the headwaters of Mount Linas. It was later converted into an oil mill. Its facilities no longer in use are well preserved; it is now a retail outlet of the Porta bakery, established in 1918, committed to recovering and enhancing ancient grains, including with its sourdough starter.
