{"id":93237,"date":"2023-12-19T11:49:49","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/monumenti\/manno-house\/"},"modified":"2024-08-26T09:15:45","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T07:15:45","slug":"manno-house","status":"publish","type":"monumento","link":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/monumenti\/manno-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Manno House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manno House<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the result of a commitment made by the City of Alghero and the Giuseppe Siotto Research Foundation to remember the great historian and politician from Alghero and promote the city&#8217;s cultural and historical heritage. After decades of neglect resulting from the 1943 bombing, the ruins of Giuseppe Manno&#8217;s birth house were demolished between the 1970s and 1980s. In 2004 the administration purchased the area with the ambitious goal of building a museum and research center dedicated to the historian and politician from Alghero. The collaboration between the two parties has enabled the creation of a multipurpose facility (Museum and Research Center) in the oldest area of the city (dating back to the 12th century). The Museum has a considerable exhibition heritage, consisting of furniture, paintings, sculptures, prints, ancient books, correspondence, manuscripts and original documentation, of absolute historical and artistic importance, the result of a long research and acquisition work carried out by the Siotto Foundation over the years.
