{"id":93354,"date":"2024-05-09T15:40:17","date_gmt":"2024-05-09T13:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/monumenti\/sacred-well\/"},"modified":"2026-04-12T17:33:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T15:33:37","slug":"sacred-well","status":"publish","type":"monumento","link":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/monumenti\/sacred-well\/","title":{"rendered":"Sacred Well"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On the hill of Cuccuru Nuraxi is a unique sacred well, made towards the end of the Bronze Age.<br\/>What makes it original in the first place is its location at a much higher elevation than the water table.<br\/>In fact, the cylindrical barrel, lined with rows of stones, crosses almost the entire hill on which the well stands.<br\/>Descending for a depth of 12 meters it engages a narrow siphon carved directly into the rock, which descends for another 10 meters.<br\/>Another element of originality is the fact that the access staircase does not end directly on the well, but leads into a hypogeic tholos.
