{"id":93556,"date":"2023-12-19T11:49:45","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/monumenti\/fonte-romana-is-solus\/"},"modified":"2024-07-26T12:38:49","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T10:38:49","slug":"fonte-romana-is-solus","status":"publish","type":"monumento","link":"https:\/\/monumentiaperti.com\/it\/en\/monumenti\/fonte-romana-is-solus\/","title":{"rendered":"Fonte Romana Is Solus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The colonization of the island of Sant&#8217;Antioco was due since ancient times to the presence of numerous water sources that flowed copiously in the waterfront facing the lagoon.<br \/>\nThe Phoenicians when they traveled the Mediterranean made a destination in the ancient Island of Sant&#8217;Antioco where they could get water to continue their journey.<br \/>\nThe Romans with the construction of the city of Sulci carried out all those works necessary for the urbanization of the city.<br \/>\nAmong these, of particular importance was the realization of the channeling of spring water with the construction of the Roman fountain (is solus) in what is now Piazza Italia.<br \/>\nProbably the toponym is solus would be the plural de su solu, which indicated the spring.     Since ancient times and up to the present day, the Roman fountain has been the only form of water supply for the population.
