The main feature of Lamarmora Square was the &#8220;De Su Maimoni&#8221; Fountain. Much has been written about Maimone, depicting the young man and the beast (a water deity whose worship is lost in the mists of time): some scholars claim that Su Maimone is an ancient rain deity of Proto-Sardinian origin, reinterpreted by the Phoenicians.
