The conservative restoration, which took place in the first decade of the twenty-first century, made it possible to recover and preserve the structure that reflects that of the traditional earthen house of the Campidano di Terralba. Across the wide cobblestone courtyard, &#8220;Sa Domu&#8221; is spread over two floors. The masonry is made of unfired earth, of the handmade type, with considerable presence of gravel, sand, timbers and straw inserts. The roof is double-sloped with a wooden truss supporting structure and a roof covering of Sardinian roof tiles on incannicciato. Still visible on the ground floor is the old bread oven, also made entirely of unfired earth. Sa Domu de Tzia represents a significant example of urban redevelopment of a typical Campidanese house that, without losing the poetic charm of tradition, has been adapted to current regulations and the changing needs of contemporary society.
