Sono passati pochi anni dall\u2019Unit\u00e0 d\u2019Italia e gi\u00e0 si sente l\u2019esigenza di celebrare lo straordinario periodo storico che l\u2019ha preceduta.<\/p>\n

Durante il fascismo le sale vengono chiuse, per via dei patti lateranensi stretti tra regime e papato e, nel \u201944, uno dei bombardamenti tedeschi della seconda guerra mondiale colpisce il palazzo danneggiando la collezione.<\/p>\n

Dalle macerie dei bombardamenti, i materiali possono essere estratti solo alla fine della guerra. Nel 1954 il Sindaco di Ferrara Luisa Gallotti Balboni stabilisce di rifondare il Museo che viene dedicato anche alla Resistenza.<\/p>\n
