Museum of Minerals and Dioramas

The museum features a rich collection of minerals, most of which come directly from the Montevecchio mine. Some minerals, however, were mined in other mines in Sardinia or came from other parts of Italy and abroad.

The splendid Dellacà collection features Dioramas depicting mining life in different eras. Visitors are taken on an exciting journey into the world of mining by a specially designed educational tour to intrigue and fascinate them. The museum has been set up at the former Montevecchio Guest House.

The Guest House, built in 1930, was used as accommodation for the mine’s engineers and managers: spacious rooms, airy entrance loggias and decorative apparatuses typical of 19th-century urban residences in large cities.
