The precise date of its construction is unknown. Most likely, it was born after the provisions of Viceroy Lodovico d’Hallot des Hayes who, in 1767, encouraged the establishment of the Monti and regularized their operation. Monti Granatici were grain collection centers used as a common fund, and in Sardinia they played a fundamental role in the economy and growth of the territory. The materials used for the construction of the walls were rubble stone and mud, the floor was made from a simple beaten concrete, and the roof, then in precarious condition, was pitched, internally supported by wooden trusses and with the frame made of reeds, while externally it was covered with coppi-type tiles. The restoration work did not change the original structure of the building.
