Nuraghe La Prisgiona

The nuraghe La Prisgiona is today a pile of rubble. Large, roughly squared granite blocks and small stones were used for construction. The plan of the central body is thought to have been three-lobed, but it is difficult to understand the articulation of the interior spaces, of which a compartment unearthed by a clandestine excavation is visible; the vault was tholos. A stone-filled corridor is also noted. It is possible to recognize the mighty ante-mural that insists on and exploits the natural rock, with the entrance still preserving in situ the lintel consisting of a large trapezoidal slab. Datable to the Bronze Age/Iron Age, it is assumed to have a dwelling-defensive function.
