The Camp’e Isca forest nursery is located near the former Forestry Barracks, in the same locality from which it takes its name. It was established in 1914 with the need to meet the requirement of forest plants for the reforestation of the territory, which is subject to hydrogeological instability. The Camp’e Isca nursery belongs to the network of conservation nurseries of the Region of Sardinia: many endemic species are conserved and produced here according to guidelines provided by the University of Cagliari, and officinal plants and other Mediterranean scrub species are also cultivated. The Andalas association, for the occasion, organizes the activity “andausu a monti: the community and its mountain” and “su marzu e sa torrada.” The nursery (also known as the nursery of Montimannu) can be reached from the town of Villacidro, from which it is 16 km away, by taking the road that runs along the reservoir on the Rio Leni.
