From the Belvedere of Nebida starts a circular scenic trail with breathtaking views of the coast from south to north to the Sugarloaf Rock of Masua. From here it is possible to reach the remains of the Lamarmora washery by a flight of over 400 steps.
It was built in 1897 by the “Società anonima di Nebida” and used until the mid-1930s, when it was closed due to the economic depression. It is a building constructed of exposed stone that is spread over several overlapping volumes traversed by large arches and is completed by two tall chimneys. At the foot of the laveria, by the sea, the calcining kilns, the ore and goods warehouse, and the old dock for the pontoons are visible.
The building is located in an area that is important not only for its environmental aspect, at the center of a very important geological and nature trail that has long been a destination for scholars and tourists from all over the world.
Laveria Lamarmora is one of the symbols of the Geomining Park of Sardinia.
