Since September 2010, the museum has been relocated to the Municipal Art and Culture Center “La Vetreria” in Pirri. The museum, for the occasion, has renewed the layout with an innovative display, tracing a geo-chronological path and linking the geological vicissitudes of our planet with the evolution of life. The main attractions include an Allosaurus (Jurassic dinosaur) skeleton, nearly 8 meters long by 2.5 meters high; and one of a pterodactyl (Cretaceous flying reptile), with a wingspan of about 3 meters. Two thematic dioramas on forest and coastal wetland life were also reconstructed. Other environmental reconstructions concern the tropical and Mediterranean seabed and a reconstruction of a volcanic event involving Sardinia 20 million years ago.
