Lodine is an Italian commune of 295 inhabitants in the province of Nuoro in the Barbagia di Ollolai.
The area was inhabited in pre-Nuragic (presence of tombs of giants) and Nuragic (presence of some nuraghi) times.
In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Giudicato of Arborea. In 1420, when the giudicato fell, it came under the rule of the marquisate of Oristano. In 1478, after the battle of Macomer, it came under Aragonese rule. In 1604 it was incorporated into the duchy of Mandas, a fief of the Maza and then of the Tellez-Giron d’Alcantara. The town was redeemed to the last feudal lords in 1839 with the abolition of the feudal system ordered by the Savoys.
In 1928 it was aggregated with Gavoi, of which it became a hamlet. It became an autonomous municipality in 1988.
