The idea of the Ovodda School Museum was born in 2017 with the aim of recovering the historical memory and all the school materials used in a chronological span from the second half of the 1800s to the 1970s.
The historical and documentary research and related preparation was completed in 2021 with the compilation of an inventory counting the beauty of 600 pieces, some already owned by the schools and the Ovodda Town Hall, others the result of donations from Ovodda residents.
The museum is housed in historic building that was formerly used as City Hall and classrooms.
The first floor is dedicated to the exhibition with the reconstruction of two classrooms, one with furnishings from the 1930s and the other from the 1950s/60s.
Finally, the exhibit is complemented by Ovodda’s old school registers, the oldest dating back to 1867, and a digital collection of photographs depicting teachers and pupils and the ever-present school report cards.
