The mural was created as part of the “Festival of Trees 2024 – Adopt a Plant” project, organized by the Oikos Active Citizenship Association; this is the third mural created at the large traffic circle at Red Margin in collaboration with the association.
This latest creation, titled “Sa Ega Pinta,” was made by artist Viola Vistosu. Inspired by the Roman frescoes in the nymphaeum of Villa Livia, it depicts a citrus orchard of various plants, such as orange, tangerine and lemon; all plants that represent the family tree of yesteryear, found in every courtyard in Campidano. In addition to the orchard, various birds typical of Sardinia are also depicted: Sardinian partridge, greenfinch, goldfinch, and bee-eater.
The mural was unveiled in April 2025.
