Registration is now open for the educational family initiative of the XXIXth edition of Cagliari Monumenti Aperti. The Marco Polo Cultural Association will engage the Cagliari public in a new treasure hunt entitled “Everything is possible in Stampace.”
THE BACKGROUND.
“In Stampace anything is possible!” He was told this by Commissioner Marongiu, but he, who
had seen so much in his Villanova, had no idea that by moving to Stampace he
would see all kinds of things! Like the day when the baker Efisio, from his workshop
casts a glance at the church of San Michele and, oh my! – Something is not quite right! THE
STATUE OF ST. MICHAEL IS GONE! But how is that possible? It has always been there! His
great-grandfather Efisio knew it, his grandfather Efisio too, his father Efisio too! The
baker, bewildered, woke up the whole neighborhood shouting, “D’anti furauu” – they
stole it, he said – “anti furau santu Miali!” – “they stole St. Michael!” – -. Someone
went to throw the parish priest out of bed who, in despair, immediately went to the police station
accompanied by the elders of the neighborhood. How they shouted! “Ta bregungia” – “What
Shame!” – and then, “I know who did it. Efisio.” – “Who Efisio?” “Eh, Efisio! Du sciu deu” –
“I know” – “But how do you do it if everyone in this neighborhood is named Efisio?” Blurts out
Commissioner Marongiu putting his hands on his head. “Welcome to Stampace,” he thinks, and he
immediately sets to work on the case of the missing statue.
- When: Sunday, May 18 h 10:30 a.m.
- Game duration: about 2 hours
- Team composition: Teams must consist of at least one adult and one child (ages 6 to 10) up to a maximum of 5 members per team.
- Participation is free of charge. Registration required, possibility to participate up to completion of available places (max 20 teams).
