He is a bearded old man with a crown and a youthful body, holds a scepter in his hand and has a dog at his feet, while a snake bites his heart. Enigmatic are the inscriptions that accompany some of his depictions: Panormus conca aurea, suos devorat, alienos nutrit (“Palermo Conca of gold, devours its own and feeds others”).
Starting from Piazza San Domenico and crossing the Vucciria, one will discover the different Geni scattered through the streets of Palermo, clue by clue, until the one in Villa Giulia.
