The War Memorial is located in the public gardens along Via Aurelia, within a fenced area.
The work constitutes the first major public commission by Arturo Martini, who won the competition announced by the municipality in 1923. The work consists of a slender pyramid with a square stone base, resting on a circular pedestal which, in turn, stands on a platform that is also circular.
In front of the faces of the pyramid are four Bronzee statues depicting allegorical figures: Victory, War, History and Sacrifice.
