Church of Our Lady Virgin of Health

Built to the design of arch. Macrelli between 1963 and 1967, the parish was erected and entrusted by the then Bishop of Cagliari, Bishop Paolo Botto, to the Congregation of the Sons of St. Mary Immaculate. Subsequently, the church was renovated to a design by architect Mattia del Prete on the directions of the New Aesthetics of the Neocatechumenal Movement, and the work is nearing completion. In the elevated part of the building is the seat of the president of the assembly-a Plexiglas chair-to allow the reading of the Mystery Column painted by C. Arguello, founder of the Way, on a gold background covering a vast area where Gospel episodes such as the Annunciation, Nativity, Baptism of Christ, Transfiguration, Entry into Jerusalem, Last Supper, Crucifixion, Descent to the Underworld, Empty Sepulcher, Ascension, Pentecost, Assumption of Mary Dormitio and Christ Pantocratic are depicted. In front of the cathedra, are the ambo and mensa made of white Carrara marble and the baptismal font that allows for the rite by both immersion and infusion. The icon currently venerated inside and giving the parish its name was executed in 1976 by Lucia Porcu and donated to Father Erminio Passi. The Stations of the Cross are by Franco D’Aspro. Attached to the church are rooms for Liturgies, meetings, catechism and parish offices, and the library.
