Pittau House

Casa Pittau includes all the typical architectural elements of Middle Campidano houses and for this reason it has been included in the General Catalog of Cultural Heritage of the Region of Sardinia.
The house was built in the late 1700s and early 1800s and, inside, has two buildings.

The main building is in front of the entrance gate and being elevated is reached by a characteristic stone staircase. The large loggia that the house overlooks is supported by four columns with wooden lintels.
The walls of the loggia reveal ancient frescoes from the 1900s, still visible today, by a famous local painter, Guglielmo Concu.
Initially created to create a shaded area, given the very hot summer weather, it became over time a kind of living room for conversation and work.

The second housing structure, built on two levels above ground and about 5 meters high at the eaves, appears as a room where time has stopped in the middle of the last century: every room and building material appears authentically placed in that period. All the floors in the building are original, and all the furnishings and objects in the historic home belong to the family.
The house can be considered a self-sufficient organism since everything from agricultural to wine production was managed within it.
