Coastline of Punta Trettu

That of Punta Trettu is a coastal area with high landscape and environmental potential, enhanced by the sea view towards the islands of Sant’Antioco and San Pietro.
The vegetation present is characterized by a pine forest composed of different species of pine (domestic, maritime and Canary), while the Mediterranean scrub is mainly composed of the Dwarf Palm, a species endemic to the entire southwestern area of Sardinia, and Juniper.
Morphologically, the area is marked by a narrow strip that marks a sandy elongation: the terminal part, not being stabilized by vegetation, is more mobile depending on the meteomarine conditions.
This is a sector of sea evolving toward conditions typical of lagoon systems.
