Around the 15th century Mara Arbarey, as it was then Villamar was called, was a populous fiefdom, crossroads of grain-related routes between the islands of the Mediterranean. Evidence of this was recorded a substantial number of settlers from the island of Maiorca who settled in the village to such an extent that they give the name Majorcan village to the heart of the abity, the current historic center. The neighborhood is identified between the parish church and St. Peter’s Church. The Maiorchina house is located within the center historical center, in the vicinity of St. Peter’s church, and is a good example of a large rustic complexco habitation of Marmilla.
