Aligi Sassu Museum

The museum, recently established by the Sassu Foundation and the Municipality of Thiesi, is dedicated to Thiesi-born artist Aligi Sassu. Its four elegant thematic rooms house a permanent collection of 120 graphic works created using various techniques such as engraving, lithography and etching. The works offer an overview of the author’s artistic production since the early years of his activity. The room is embellished by the large fresco created in the early 1960s in memory of the Antifeudal Movements, of which Thiesi was a promoter, together with the neighboring towns of Cheremule and Bessude, for the affirmation of the fundamental rights of the society of the time against the feudal lord, Duke Manca dell’Asinara
