In the 20th century Bauladu was the birthplace of painter Antonio Atza, counted among the most appreciated masters of Sardinian art in the second half of the 20th century.
His love of art brought him into contact with the international avant-garde ferments of Moscow, Leningrad, Paris, London and Madrid, from which he drew continuous inspiration.
The council chamber dedicated to him preserves five of the most representative works of his creative journey: a journey through time between artistic innovations and the most classical landscape painting.
The outdoor space, adjacent to the Town Hall, also pays homage to the Bauladian painter: the shadow of the iron pergola casts on the masonry an interweaving of threads and forms that recall the art of Antonio Atza and further refer to some of the most important island artists of the last century, such as Maria Lai.
