The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, built around 1632 in Baroque style at the behest of the Oratory of the Most Holy Rosary of Ozieri, is closely linked to the historic Confraternity of the Rosary.
Located within walking distance of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the seat of the Curia, the church has played a prominent role in the city’s religious life.
With the foundation of the nearby Poor Clare Convent in the 17th and 18th centuries, the building was used by cloistered nuns for liturgical practices.
It has recently undergone a thorough restoration that involved the entire Poor Clares complex, enhancing its architectural and historical aspect.
Inside, the first chapel on the right, known as the Chapel of the Souls, contains a valuable nature-themed fresco dated 1699. There is also direct access to the bell tower from the chancel floor.
