The Evangelical Christian Baptist Church is a Protestant church of the Baptist denomination, present in Cagliari since May 10, 1877. Various were the places where the first meetings of the community were held, from private homes to public spaces in Via Sassari, in Piazza Yenne, in Via Roma and, in particular, from 1917 in Corso Vittorio Emanuele 117, up to the current temple located in Viale Regina Margherita 54, inaugurated on May 8, 1955. The refusal of the city administration to the construction of a temple with the distinctive features of the planned European Protestant building, in Tigellio Street, determined the location within an apartment building in order not to make the presence of a non-Catholic religious minority obvious. The community currently consists of about 100 people including full members and sympathizers.
Cagliari Baptist Church is part of UCEBI, the Evangelical Baptist Christian Union of Italy, and FCEI, the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy.
