The head office of the Bank of Sassari holds within it an important collection of works-from different periods and artistic fields-whose common denominator is the authors’ deep connection with Sardinia. Attention to new trends in creativity and, at the same time, knowledge of island traditions have enabled the creation of an exhibition itinerary that highlights the deepest essence of Sardinia. The collection of paintings includes great 20th-century Sardinian masters such as Costantino Nivola, Giuseppe Biasi, Mario Delitala, Giovanni Ciusa Romangia, Carmelo Floris, Melchiorre Melis, and other distinguished artists. Special emphasis is also given to emerging names in contemporary painting such as Salvatore Garau and Pastorello. Of equal importance is the presence of artistic artifacts such as tapestries by Piero Zedde, carpets by Aldo Rossi, and sculptures by Pinuccio Sciola and Gavino Tilocca. On the occasion of the Monumenti Aperti event, the Bank is hosting the exhibition La ceramica Scassellati – una storia di famiglia, a selection of the ceramics of Franco, Monica and Jacopo Scassellati, featuring some of the most significant works produced over fifty years by the three generations. The Bank of Sassari continues to witness the confrontation between tradition and innovation.
