Monument of the Pots “Is Pingiadas”

Sa Pingiada, Su Tianu, s’Ariglia, are the three elements that make up the “Is Pingiadas” monument.

The monument, created in the summer of 1985, represents a symbol and a reminder for the artisans of the past who contributed their labor to make Pabillonis, a town known in Sardinia by the nickname “sa bidda de is pingiadas,” famous. That of the potters was certainly the most important form of handicraft work that constituted the only, but very important, industry in our country, of course along with that of the tile makers and the manufacture of unbaked bricks. The art of the potter has ancient origins.
