Sacred Well Is Pirois

Built in the Nuragic age for the practice of water worship, it has the peculiarity of having implanted on the top a tower, built on the pseudo-dome that closes the well chamber.

The atrium consists of two wall faces composed of granite blocks.

The architraved entrance leads to the staircase through which one descends into the well chamber, enclosed at the top by a pseudo-dome.

The well is fed by a perennial spring whose water is potable.

The careful craftsmanship with which the individual elements of the structure were built denotes a remarkable knowledge of Nuragic construction techniques and allows it to be placed in the Middle Bronze Age.
