The Grand Tower, located in the marine hamlet of Torre Grande, is the largest of the coastal towers erected between the late 16th and early 17th centuries for anti-Barbarian defense. The extraordinary size of this tower, equipped with fire mouths, must be attributed to its function as a defensive garrison for the port of Oristano.
