Tower of St. James

Dedicated to Sant Jaume to honor King James I the Conqueror, the octagonal tower would date back to the 17th century. It has a ribbed vault, both in the upper and lower floors, and on the outside a Gothic decoration is clearly visible, perhaps leftover from a cornice or perusal element similar to the elements adorning the portal of St. Mary’s. A typical Catalan element is the niche, located at the entrance, and the short spiral staircase leading to the lower floor.
