Sa Spendula Park

It is a natural spring, currently built of squared stone, and is located at the end of the road of the same name near the cliff face facing Segariu.

The first masonry construction is from 1870, the date engraved one meter above the water outlet hole; in 1921, due to population increase, it was covered and enlarged with stones and cement by Mayor Simbula Francesco and mason Curreli Francesco.

During the early 1800s it was the subject of disputes between Segariu and Furtei over water withdrawal during the summer months.

Angius, around 1850, wrote that sa Spendula and sa Mitza de Pedru Pinna are the only springs in Segariu and give “excellent water to drink.”

Currently, the water is no longer potable due to work upstream of the two quarries.
