The monument stands suggestively on a large elevated rocky platform southwest of the island of Sant’Antioco, in the locality of su Niu de su crobu, northwest of the nuragic complex of Grutti ‘e Acqua. The Tomb of the Giants is a funerary monument with a collective burial function and place of worship. The burial, of the “row” type, consists of an apsidal tomb body, a funerary corridor and an exedra. The entrance to the monument, which opens in the center of the base row of the exedra, consists of a trilithic system with a very strong lintel, worked in the form of a parallelepiped, which connects the burial chamber with the area bordered by an exedra. The burial corridor is built with poorly worked blocks, set in a knife shape, on which rest smaller stones arranged in irregular rows, tamped down with numerous wedges. The tomb body has a width of 4.20 meters. Funeral ceremonies and therapeutic-sacral rites of incubation were held in this area. The burial dates to the Middle to Late Bronze Age.
