A festival is a popular festival with music and dance, held periodically, that provides an aesthetic experience in open places, such as squares, and at natural and/or archaeological sites. It is a social event, an expression of the collective imagination that is deeply rooted in the host territory, involving not only residents but also an audience of enthusiasts, who face long journeys to indulge in the imagination and dreamlike suggestions of music and dance. The 2024 edition of “Monumenti Aperti” pays tribute to the Cala Gonone Jazz Festival, which was established in 1988 through the initiative of the “Intermezzo Nuoro” association. The event is held every year between July and August. Since its inception, it has had the pleasure of hosting the biggest names on the Italian and international jazz scene, proposing a mix of the most diverse sounds and offering the public high-level artistic performances, even touring, in the beautiful setting of the Dorgali area. The history of the festival will be told by the students of the scientific high school through a multimedia trail written by them, in collaboration with the Intermezzo.
