Central Baths (Palace of King Barbaro)

The grandiose monumental remains belong to a third-century AD public bath complex, one of the largest in Roman Sardinia. Often mistaken for the ruins of Governor Barbaro’s palace, they have remained visible over time. The complex, with more than 2,000 square meters and a residual height of more than 10 meters, was built over pre-existing private housing structures. The surrounding area shows a regular layout, with paved streets at right angles and a portico used for commercial and craft activities.
